Obtaining a Real Estate License

Obtaining a real estate license in New Jersey is not difficult, if you know what to expect, and can fulfill the requirements. In New Jersey the minimum age requirement is 18, have a high school education or equivalent, complete 75-hour prelicensure course at a licensed school and pass license exam.  After successfully completing the course and passing the examination the applicant must apply for a license through a sponsoring real estate broker.  In addition the Commission must be satisfied as to the applicant’s honesty, trustworthiness, character and integrity.  However if an applicant has ever been convisted of a crime, or is currently on parole or probation their application for a real estate license may be denied.  Also if you are a disable United States Veteran and a citazen of New Jersey, it may be possible to secure waivers of the education requirements for licenseure

ERA Absolute Realty agents are required to be members of the local real estate board and complete certification training and contract-completion training, and perhaps additional training through that board.
